HoundHaven

HoundHaven Philippines is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming retired working dogs. These include former service dogs from various government agencies such as the military, the police, and private security groups. HoundHaven’s mission is centered on ensuring that these dogs who have spent years serving in demanding, high-stress environments receive the proper care, rest, and dignity they deserve after retirement.

The organization provides medical treatment, behavioral rehabilitation, and foster care to help the dogs transition from a working environment to a loving home. By promoting responsible adoption and spreading awareness about the value of retired K9s. HoundHaven helps adopters understand the commitment, compassion, and preparedness required to care for these special dogs.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is the primary government agency responsible for enforcing the country’s anti-drug laws. It views illegal drug activities as a serious threat to national security, public safety, and social order. Aside from implementing strict prohibitions and penalties, PDEA is also tasked with preventing, investigating, and combating the production, distribution, and use of illegal drugs including controlled precursors and essential chemicals.

Because of the nature of its work, PDEA employs highly trained service dogs (K9 units). These dogs assist in detecting illegal drugs, participating in routine inspections, field operations, and specialized training activities. Their role is essential in strengthening public safety and supporting PDEA officers in various high-risk operations.
